Enter 2008. What's Next?

In the months ahead, gBox will work on several fronts: New features for our widget, new features specifically for our Facebook integration, new features for our site, and more MP3 content. So, there is a bunch of fun stuff coming up...

Meanwhile, we are starting the new year with a small promo: For a limited time, our Facebook users will be able to gift their friends from a set of WMA songs for free! The selection will change daily, so you should check back often.

NOTE: We are always happy to hear from you, and to add new ideas to our list of enhancements and improvements to gBox! Simply respond to this posting, or mail to feedback@gbox.com.

Content, Content, Content

We have just completed yet another music content update (this time a large independent music label aggregator), pushing our total count of tracks online to well above 1 Million. And most of it is in user-friendly MP3 format!

And there is more to come: A new content catalog is being prepared, and will be loaded in the next few weeks. We hope to get it online for you before Christmas.

You might have noticed that we also offer music in WMA format. This is DRM-encoded content (requiring a license to play), which was the only digital music format that all four major labels had supported, and subject of many heated discussions. However, a renewed interest in DRM-free music by the majors this year has allowed gBox to offer you a great selection of MP3 albums and hits!

New gBox Widget Update

We are updating our gBox wishlist widget! This release will include various improvements, including a new (animated) look, drag-n-drop functionality, and performance tweaks.

The major new feature, though, is the ability to listen to sound clips directly within the widget. This means that anyone looking at your wishlist, now also can listen to a sample preview of each song.

Let us know what you think. Your feedback is always welcome!

Get gBox on MySpace and Friendster

Happy Thanksgiving holiday greetings!

Did you know that you can add the gBox widget almost anywhere? This means,
gBox is also available for those of you on the MySpace or Friendster network. Simply use the publishing tool on our site, and copy the widget code. Note that we're currently working on improving and simplifying this process even more.

Meanwhile, you can participate in our mini-poll (on the right hand side) so we get a better idea of what social networks to support. Oh, and of course OpenSocial support is on the way! Stay tuned...

Pumpkins and Monsters

Happy Halloween! With things being busy as usual, this greeting arrives a bit late. Nevertheless, we hope you had a great scare (in a good way), and a chance to gather enough candy to get you going until next year...

For those of you curious about the gBox team, we finally got around posting a photo:
